It’s late at night, and the cheerful chatter of Moth, Frog, Cricket, and Mockingbird keeps a restless child awake. But the friendly wind and a cooperative cloud intervene to quiet all nighttime melodies and deliver a gentle "Good night."

Historically, operator theory and representation theory both originated with the advent of quantum mechanics. The interplay between the subjects has been and still is active in a variety of areas. This volume focuses on representations of the universal enveloping algebra, covariant representations in general, and infinite-dimensional Lie algebras in particular. It also provides new applications of recent results on integrability of finite-dimensional Lie algebras. As a central theme, it is shown that a number of recent developments in operator algebras may be handled in a particularly elegant

Since the publication of the first edition of this book in 1981, it has been widely used as a textbook at university level for graduate courses in environmental management, environmental science and environmental technology (for non-engineers). As this second edition is significantly improved, it should find an even wider application than the first. In the second edition, the section on ecotoxicology and effects on pollutants has been expanded considerably, as has Chapter 4 on ecological principles and concepts. Further improvement has been made by the addition of a section on ecological engine

Renowned scholar David Aune, author of a leading commentary on the book of Revelation, here offers twenty studies on apocalypticism, the book of Revelation, and related topics. Several essays on the Apocalypse of John explore contextual relationships of the Apocalypse to apocalyptic literature. Other essays center on aspects of the content and interpretation of the Apocalypse itself by investigating issues such as discipleship, narrative Christology, genre, and the problem of God and time. Essays on early Christian prophecy deal with charismatic exegesis in early Judaism and early Christianity

Jim Cootes knows orchids so well that two species have been named after him. The author notes in his stunning Orchids of the Philippines reveal that he has even found a pure white flower, rare as a snow leopard: "An albino form of Dendrobium fairchildiae." This volume consists of an exhaustive and hypnotic listing of over 300 species of orchids--plants native to the archipelago, which have been discovered and classified by Cootes and others over decades of research. Each entry includes a vivid color photograph and a series of subcategories, including growth habits, petals, habitat, and distri

Pichardo (Fresno, CA.)1 out of 1 found this review helpfulI first heard of this book from Eben Pagan while going through his program "Wake Up Productive". I’ve read a number of self help books from Tony Robbins, Keith Harrell and on and on. . . This book is without a doubt in my top three for best self help books. I sell a lot of books after I read them. This one I have no intention of ever selling. Its that good. I’m sure I’ll read it a couple of times over

Sustainability has become a buzzword in the last decade, but its full meaning is complex, emerging from a range of different sectors. In practice, it has become the springboard for millions of individuals throughout the world who are forging the fastest and most profound social transformation of our time-the sustainability revolution. The Sustainability Revolution paints a picture of this largely unrecognized phenomenon from the point of view of five major sectors of society: Community (government and international institutions) Commerce (business) Resource extraction (forestry, farming, fishe
