Oakland Park was named for the massive stand of trees that lined the Middle River. Our first permanent settlers were the Whidby family, who came from Georgia to South Florida in 1901, when the area was known as Colahatchee. This book presents methods for analyzing data using parametric nonlinear regression models. Using examples from experiments in agronomy and biochemistry, it shows how to apply the methods. Aimed at scientists who are not familiar with statistical theory, it concentrates on presenting the methods in an intuitive way rather than developing the theoretical grounds. The book includes methods based on classical nonlinear regression theory and more modern methods such as the bootstrap that have proven effective in practice. The examples are analyzed with the software program nls2 implemented in S-PL

It presents and examines the most recent research and theories, along with practical guidance on how to avoid obscurity in legal drafting and legal interpretation at national level and on the international scene. The aims of the book are thus two folds. The first is to critically reach a nexus between the disciplines of law and language with respect to the debates on the use of clarity in legal discourse.
